JUICE: Fig and Ginger Smoothie

Yield: 1 glass
Ingredients:
1 cup spinach
1 cup figs (about 4 medium sized fruits)
½ tablespoon chopped ginger
2 whole pitted dates (pre-soaked)
½ cup distilled water
1 cup ice cubes
Preparation:
1. In a blender, add spinach and water. Blend until smooth.
2. Add all remaining ingredients and process until blended smoothly.
3. Pour into a glass and enjoy.
Variation:
Put in a tablespoon of flaxseeds for added zing.
Smoothie fact:
Figs are packed filled with dietary fiber, which makes them ideal for slimming down because you may feel full regarding longer.

GINATAANG ADOBO

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 45 ml vinegar
  • 90 ml soy sauce
  • 2 pc bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp whole black peppercorns, crushed
  • 1 pack Knorr Ginataang Gulay Complete Recipe Mix
  • 2 cups water

DIRECTIONS

  • Sear chicken pieces in a pre-heated pan until brown. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté garlic, add vinegar, and let this simmer for a minute.
  • Add soy sauce, bay leaf, peppercorns, Knorr Ginataang Gulay Recipe Mix, and chicken pieces.
  • Let this simmer covered until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
